Goooooooooooooogle

Ever since Google's IPO I have been skeptical about the value of their stock. They are a search engine! I guess selling advertising is pretty profitable, and they have a big market both in terms of searchers and advertisers, but still, their product is something that could essentially be replaced overnight. If a better engine comes along, how hard is it for me to type in "noogle.com" instead of "google.com"? Then when I see things like this with brilliant lines like “We don't yet know how we are going to make significant amounts of money on YouTube,” Mr. Schmidt said. “But it seems obvious that we should be able to make some money from this.” REALLY?! THAT'S A BUSINESS MODEL?! I guess when you are sitting on a giant pile of money, and everyone loves you, you can do things like this, but I seem to remember a time when there was talk like this before...maybe around 1999? I guess only time will tell, but even if I had money, I wouldn't be buying Google stock.

I heard that Google is a fifth column for international socialism and hates America...

Yeah, it's almost like there are other countries, cultures, and beliefs outside America. Heaven forbid that someone would unwittingly be exposed to them!
