Utility Companies and Banks Greater Terrorists than Al-Qaeda and the US Government Combined!

So it seems that if you turn off someone’s water for non payment, that is an act of terrorism! Or at least the CBC is willing to let someone tell you that it is. I guess all those companies that cut off services when you don’t pay the bill, or take back things you bought on credit, but couldn’t actually afford are terrorists! I can’t really believe that CBC put a story like this on their front page. I think anyone who has a utility cut off should call a press conference and demand the same kind of coverage. Aren’t there more important things our tax dollars could be used to report on?

I still haven’t seen a video from the Afghan prison break…

Does that mean when we pay our utility bills we are financing terrorism?

Yes, you are right to point out the absurdity of the story. Just keep in mind that the term terroism and "act of terrorism" are themselves poorly defined. They are concepts which have been recently utilized to legitimate narrow ideology. It is meant to stir moral sentiment. however, once it is used to describe, for example, malevolent state action, it becomes term open to manipulation. When our leaders are not kept from using terms like in an improper fashion - should we expect any different from those in oppressed few in CIVIL society?

People with legitimate greivances will often try to borrow from current political discourse, so as to strike a chord with viewers, readers etc.
