Free to Protest
Well I’m glad to see that China is going to allow specific protest areas in Beijing over the course of the Olympics. Sadly since they have to first obtain permits from local police, and also abide by other Chinese laws on not protesting over politically sensitive issues, I can’t really see who is going to show up to use these venues. Maybe we’ll get to see some good anti-American or anti-Japanese protests going on during the games, but I don’t think this is going to satisfy any of the other protesters who have been waiting for this opportunity for years now. I’m still predicting blood on the streets, broadcast live to the living rooms of a shocked globe.
