The Real Piracy
Turns out those Somali Pirates are more ambitious or lucky that you might expect. Seems they managed to seize a ship with at least 30 T-72 tanks. The cream of the soviet bloc I'm told. I don't really know what pirates can do with tanks, but I'm sure they can line them up on the shore and look pretty menacing. Plus it's a tank. It's not like it will sustain much damage as you figure out how to use it. Plus I imagine that there are PLENTY of buyers for discount tanks in Africa.

Same main battle tank used by the Ethiopians currently engaged in Somalia. Could cause them problems if sold off to any of the Warlords in the region. Well if said Warlords can train tank crews, the T-72 is somewhat more complicated than a .50 cal mounted in the bed of a pick up truck.
Delving the depths of my shallow knowledge on such subjects...
I'm gonna say that these pirate types probably won't be able to get the MBTs off the freighter. They're big, heavy, and tough to load/unload if you don't have the proper facilities.
I'd also like to know how they were kitted out. And most importantly, did they come with spare parts and munitions?
